Guide For Acupuncture Treatment

You are in the right place.

If you want to take on pain treatment with a holistic approach, we offer acupuncture services from licensed acupuncturists. It can help reveal the underlying causes of your pain and provide-long lasting relief without medication. Acupuncture has almost no side effects, and is a non-invasive way to control your pain. In acupuncture, high-quality, single-use, stainless steel needles are sterilized and placed in your skin to stimulate acupuncture points to give you the relief.

What is Acupuncture treatment?

Acupuncture is the practice of inserting thin, solid, metallic needles into the skin at specific strategic points, which are then manipulated through gentle movement or with electrical stimulation. These points are chosen carefully based upon the principles of Chinese Medicine. They believed the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians that control the flow of body energy (“Qi”). Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points, it is thought to promote the flow of Qi. Interestingly, various studies have shown that acupuncture is effective for a variety of conditions. Modern medicine views acupuncture points as points to stimulate nerves & muscles. Acupuncture needles & manufacturing is regulated by the FDA.

How many sessions?

In the Relief Stage, we’ll focus on reducing your symptoms to get you out of distress. During this time, treatments will be close, usually 2-4 sessions per week until you feel better.

In the Healing Stage, we’ll begin correcting the underlying cause of your pain with a series of treatments 1-2 sessions per weeks.

Finally, in the Maintenance Stage, sessions will be 2-4 visits per months or as needed basis. The purpose of these sessions is to address minor pain & avoid acute exacerbations.

What conditions does it treat?

If standard treatment fails to relief your pain, acupuncture may be helpful. Needles are hair-thin and most patients do not feel pain. It’s often reported they feel energized or relaxed following the treatment session.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture can help to restore the balance of the body’s energy, or qi, and promote healing. While the scientific evidence supporting acupuncture’s effectiveness is still evolving, some studies suggest that acupuncture may be helpful for the following conditions:

  1. Chronic pain, including back pain, neck pain, and knee pain.
  2. Headaches and migraines.
  3. Anxiety and depression.
  4. Insomnia and other sleep disorders.
  5. Nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy or pregnancy.
  6. Menstrual cramps and other menstrual-related symptoms.
  7. Allergies and asthma.
  8. Digestive disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and acid reflux.
  9. Addiction and withdrawal symptoms.
  10. Stroke rehabilitation.

It’s important to note that acupuncture should be used as a complementary therapy and not as a substitute for conventional medical treatment.
